A Weekend of Magic: From Vegas to Zion

Thursday, August 8, 2024: Vegas Adventures and Music Magic

Amy's trip to Vegas started with excitement the moment she arrived at the Vdara Hotel, where Tim met her after a couple of days presenting at the Black Hat Cybersecurity conference. The evening was just beginning as they got ready to experience something truly unforgettable: Morgan Wallen live at Allegiant Stadium.

Tim had gone above and beyond, securing pit tickets, the best in the house

Being right up close to the stage while Morgan Wallen, Nate Smith, and Jelly Roll played was a surreal experience.

The energy was electric, and Amy was absolutely giddy as they enjoyed every moment.

Despite a bit of concert chaos with a fight nearby, they made friends with the people around them, adding to the fun. The best part? Tim dancing with Amy to her favorite song, Cover Me Up. It was a magical moment that made the night even more special.

After the concert, as the Vegas heat lingered, they walked to the Luxor for some much-needed late-night bites—chicken fingers and a chili dog, the perfect post-concert fuel. Amy’s “Lucky” socks were a fun touch, making the night even more memorable.

The best nights are often the spontaneous ones, and this was just the start of their incredible adventure!

Friday, August 9, 2024: From Vegas Lights to Zion Heights

After the high-energy night in Vegas, Tim and Amy set off on a scenic drive to Zion National Park. The three-hour trip went by in a flash, and upon arriving, they quickly settled into their villa before hopping on the Zion Scenic Tour bus. The day was filled with breathtaking views, friendly encounters with tourists, and plenty of laughs, especially when Tim befriended a couple from Hawaii. They capped off the evening with a relaxing couples’ massage—Tim’s first ever!—followed by a delicious dinner at the Spotted Dog.

The night was filled with fun moments, like Tim sneaking out for beer and champagne and calling out the missing salt that made the meal even better. But behind the scenes, Tim was quietly planning something even more amazing… an engagement!

Saturday, August 10, 2024: A Sunrise Proposal in Zion

Waking up at 5 a.m., Tim and Amy hiked up to Canyon Overlook for a sunrise that would change their lives forever. As the sky turned brilliant shades of orange and pink, Tim proposed! Photographer Arika Bauer captured the beautiful moment, making the entire experience feel like a fairytale. Tim had even arranged for white roses to be delivered, symbolizing new beginnings. The card simply said, “Marry Me,” and Amy’s heart was full.

They celebrated with a dreamy picnic lunch overlooking the Virgin River, complete with champagne and sweet cinnamon rolls. Even a surprise visit from a National Park ranger couldn’t dampen the joy. A small hiccup with a forgotten permit led to some quick thinking (and hiding a champagne bottle!), but the memory became yet another part of their perfect day.

An Evening Under the Stars

After returning to the hotel for some poolside relaxation, they set off for a sunset drive through Zion National Park, snapping stunning photos with the help of a photo stick. As the evening deepened, they ended their night stargazing at the resort. Laying under a sky filled with stars and lightning-lit clouds, they even spotted a shooting star—how magical is that? Though the rain eventually sent them back to their villa, the moment was unforgettable.

To close out the night, Tim played Cover Me Up on the piano while they sang together. It was a quiet, loving end to a weekend full of adventure, surprises, and unforgettable memories. With every moment, Tim and Amy’s bond grew stronger, celebrating their love and the incredible journey they were on.
